Getting Started with Services

employU partners with The Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, and the American Dream Employment Network to receive referrals for services. We can help connect you with these agencies, complete applications for services, and provide support throughout the process to facilitate a smooth transition. Contact us and one of our Customer Success Specialists will guide you through all you need to know to get started on your career journey.

Steps to Receiving Services


Register

The first step to receiving services is to register with one of our partners. We can walk you through the process and help you submit the application to the appropriate agency.




Referral

Once registered with one of our partners, you will meet with them to discuss your situation. If you wish to work with employU for employment services, then you should state that so they can send a referral to us. We can only provide services when we receive a referral.




Intake

When we receive a referral from our partner agency, you will be contacted by one of our intake specialists so you can begin the process with employU.




Employment Services Begin

After the intake is complete, you will be paired with an employU Employment Specialist who will work with you one-on-one to accomplish your career goals.

Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is a federal-state program that helps people who have physical or mental disabilities get or keep a job. employU is  structured as a one-stop-shop offering VR Customers adult employment services, youth programs, employability trainings, paid work experience, and a variety of assessments. 

American Dream Employment Network

employU is partnered with the American Dream Network (ADEN) to provide employment services to recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Supplemental Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). Recipients are able to earn income and continue to receive SSI or SSDI benefits as long as they do not exceed the maximum amount.

Agency for Persons with Disabilities

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (A.P.D.) A.P.D. supports people who have development disabilities by working with local communities and providers. There is a waitlist for services, so it is advised to start the process as soon as possible. If assistance with the application is needed, employU may be able to help.
